The Film Festival is currently accepting applications from filmmakers around the world.
World Cinema – World Cinema representation can be of movie from any country/langauge, produced or subtitled in English. Thus, any movie that will showcase the cultural diversity of the country can be part of the festival.
Swahili Panorama ' will focus on SERIES, Short Films, Documentaries and Feature Films produced or fully dubbed in Swahili ;
The festival reserves the right to accept any films with a specific interest to the festival. Those films that were nominated for awards or that has won awards in the past will have direct entry to the competition. They will represent the festival as special nominees.
We encourage filmmakers to submit their works in any genre, features, documentaries, shorts and animation. Deadline for submission of films for 'Swahili Panorama' will be 30th November and “World Cinema’ will be 31st December, 2018.
Competition – Certificate of Excellence & Cash Awards
The competition categories include: Feature Fiction, Documentary, Short/Animation. There will be Talent and Industry Awards, together with Special Jury Awards to nominated categories.
In acknowledgement of the role that films play in contemporary society, festivals bestow awards as a to filmmakers as a tribute to their creativity, innovation and commitment. The awards will be as follows:
- Documentary – Swahili Panorama
- Short Film –Swahili Panorama
- Feature Film –Swahili Panorama.
